How we calculate

Cost is the patio's square footage times the low and high installed price per square foot for the material, from Lawn Love's patio cost guide (updated October 26, 2026). For pavers we cross-checked Angi's 2026 paver patio guide, which gives the same $8-25 band; we read it through a search excerpt because the page blocks automated access.

The midpoint shown in the widget is our arithmetic, halfway between low and high, not a published average. The cost guide does not name its underlying dataset, so treat the bands as national planning ranges.

Not included: removing an old patio, grading a slope, drainage, steps, retaining walls, lighting and permits. Region, access and site work move real bids a lot, so get at least three.

Estimates, sources

Planning estimates and published guidelines, not quotes, designs or code rulings. Figures were checked on each source on the date shown. Local prices, your home and your jurisdiction's adopted code decide the real answer.
